Meet the Kirshners

Ethel Chertkof and David Kirshner were married in 1924 at the Century Roof, Baltimore.

Wedding dress, shoes, headband, and veil of Ethel Chertkof Kirshner, 1924.
The dress is made of champagne-colored silk satin with heavy beading. Following the 1920s ‘flapper’ style, the gown lacks a waistline – but there is a built-in corset with metal stays hidden inside.
Beaded elbow-length sleeves, and a below-the-knee hemline, add a degree of modesty to an undeniably modish American silhouette.
